Dua tahun lalu, banyak orang bertanya...tak menyesal ke jadi wartwawan ..apsal tak jadi saintis, keje research ker..gaji lagi besar...lagipun u graduate biotechnology kan? why don't u even give it a try? tak ada rasa menyesal ke blajar sains kat university dulu sbb bile keje hanya jadi reporter?
whatever people said, i don't even bother...deep down, personally i feel that i've made a right choice. No turning back. To me, biotech prospect in Malaysia is not fully developed. Mostly yang ade hanye laa sales, sales and sales....research a little bit but not so much on science communication and media production or science policy and management in which I interested the most.
Indeed, meeting a lot of people from different backgrounds regardless of their countries and races is rather fascinating than labouring over test tubes or dish plates in the laboratory Personally, I think that joining research world is much more interesting in the well-developed country but not in Malaysia. Bukan untuk melihat hujan emas di negeri orang. But that's the reality, we're still lagging behind in terms of fundamental research.
Moreover, I can reach out to many people if i write for the newspapers as it would be available online or in prints. But taking a lot of efforts just to get publish in the scientific journals would definitely restrict the number of the readers as it might be circulated 'exclusively' among the scholars community only. Well, that's just my piece, don't pissed off. i'm done.
